COACHES
Matthew Null.
Coach Null has been involved in cheering for the past 17 years, both on and off the mat. After cheering for
3 years in High School, Matthew was recruited to join the Millersville University (MU) cheerleading squad
where he cheered for the next 5 years. During his tenure with MU, Matthew became involved as an instructor
with the National Cheerleader's Association (NCA). Matthew is now into his 11th year with NCA as a Head
Instructor, he has earned the NCA 2002 Top Veteran Instructor award and the coveted NCA 2003 Top Head
Instructor award. Matthew has been a featured speaker in both the 2003 and the 2005 NCA Coaches' Video
Series for cheerleading and dance. Coach Null helped run the NCA all-star half time show at the Hula
Bowl in Hawaii in 2004. Matthew has been selected by his peers for the second year to be on "Team NCA",
this team of the top 10 NCA head instructors travels to all regions of the United States to train NCA
instructors.
Matthew is the creator of TEAM ESTEEM, a now fundamental program that is taught to thousands of cheerleaders
across the United States. His work can be found in the NCA Coaches Hand Book, the NCA Spirit Book and also the
NCSSE handbook. Matthew has been coaching High School, All-star and Collegiate cheerleading for the over 11
years helping his teams earn several local and national awards. Null is in his 5th year as the Head coach
for Millersville University and his 7th as the Coach of Cheer Excel. Lastly Coach Null is the director of
cheerleading at Paramount Sports Complex. His position at paramount grants all of Matt's fellow cheerleaders
one more resource to better themselves and their skills. It also provides a way for Matthew to share almost
two decades worth of cheerleading experience with up and coming students from grade school to college levels.
Coach Null loves to coach but he also loves to cheer himself.
Matthew is not only the coach of Cheer Excel; he also takes the floor with Cheer Excel Open All-star Team.
